Draw The Line Interview

With a bright future ahead of them, I couldn't resist the temptation of interviewing one of Liverpool's top local bands.

TTEC

Could you tell me a little about how Draw The Line came to be ?

Adam

Basically Draw The Line was originally our drummer Kieran, guitar player swifty and our old guitar player John, it was just three lads from a former band looking to start a new band, all they needed was a singer and a bassist. They eventually found myself as I'd just left my old band, Diadem of The Adversary, because I wanted to be frontman. We jammed for some time and started with the name " look alive" we never really took it serious at first until we stopped with covers and started actually performing and writing music together.

TTEC

And being one of Liverpool's must see bands, what do you hope to accomplish in the long run ?

Adam

Well i'm glad you say that! In the long run I think we want our dream and the dream is to see people singing and shouting out songs back to us and too also tour the world. We're not in this to be rich but as long as we could make a living from writing an playing music, then I don't think none of us would want anything more

TTEC

And in the short time you have been around, you have managed to release your debut EP entitled "Whatever's Left", was there a particular story or inspiration behind it ?

Adam

I literally named that EP whatever's left because we kinda only just started as a band an was more then willing to literally take what was left or what we could get, it also went well with the lyrics I was putting to the songs. I think the inspirations were all different from each of us but for our first EP off the top of my head the bands that inspired us where Four Year Strong, Aiden , You Me At Six, A Day To Remember, Lower Then Atlantis etc

TTEC

How Do you feel it has been recieved

Adam

I think we were proud with the response. We've never wrote and recorded something so fast since we all started music. I mean we were literally still writing the last song as we were recording the other four. We also spotted a few people singing the songs at the shows which we more then love to see

TTEC

In the short time you have been a five piece, you have played shows with some of the best bands in the country and internationally such as Yashin and Four Year Strong. What was it like supporting some of your favorite bands ?

Adam

Honestly for us, a dream come true. The feeling of supporting Four Year Strong was amazing and the whole night was unbelievable for us and to top it off we got to meet and talk to the guys. Then the gig with Yashin was by far the best show we have ever played so far. The crowds for Yashin were amazing, shouting screaming and pulling at us

TTEC

So your currently writing your next ep "Truth Be Told", could you tell us a bit about it ?

Adam

With this next EP we have took one hell of a change in sound and how we our approaching the writing process. Instrumentally the guys have been so hard at work and have spent many months making amazing songs and not being pleased with them but finally we found what sound we were looking for. All I can say is instrumentally, we have became a lot lighter then our debut EP, lyrically the title gives it away. I am writing a lot more honest an truthful lyrics in this EP

TTEC

So what are your plans for the future and what can we expect from you

Adam

Our plans are to return back with our new EP, Truth Be Told and to start adventuring back out onto stages, but not just our home town Liverpool. Hopefully we'll get the chance to see some of the UK, January 2013. keep your eyes open for our come back show!
