Heavy Hearted Interview

Heavy Hearted is a Pop Punk/Easycore band from Santa Rosa,California, that formed in 2012. They recently came out with their debut album "When You Were Home". Listen to them and check them out on their facebook http://www.facebook.com/#!/heavyheartedca?fref=ts. I got the pleasure to interview Sam (Vocals) and Brian (Guitarist) from the band.

TTEC: How has the feedback been on the new record "When You Were Home"?

Sam : The feedback on the record has been really positive,
everyone seems to really dig what we are doing with this band. Its been nuts so far!

TTEC: Tell Everyone a little bit about the music scene where you guys are from how is it?

Brian :Well we are from the North Bay in California and there is a pretty big Hardcore scene in our Hometown Santa Rosa. A few bands around here have been getting some mad attention, Strike To Survive, State Faults and Creative Adult are some that come to mind. All really cool dudes. We have been learning a lot from what those guys are doing.

TTEC: Who are some influences?

Sam : Overall our new material that is in the works has been drawing a lot more from the local hardcore, and underground Pop-Punk scene. We all have pretty different influences, but for me my influences come from bands like New Found Glory, Title Fight, The Wonder Years, The Story So Far, etc. Brian exclusively listens to "Party On Your Pussy" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers on repeat. Thats it. Thats all.

TTEC:Any music videos anytime soon?

Brian :For now, we try to focus on the music and pushing the record as much as possible. We would love to shoot a video eventually, but as a self funded band our priority is to focus on getting out on the road and playing shows.

TTEC:Any tours going on or coming up? If so with who? and where?
Sam:  Nothing is planned as of now. We are currently in between band members and hoping to be out on the road as well as releasing new material in 2013, if the world doesnt end in a few weeks that is. There are a ton of really rad bands here in Ca that we would love to tour with when we do get that chance.

TTEC:  Anything else you guys want to share with everyone?

Brian : Thank you to everyone that has supported us since releasing "When You Were Home" from a like on Facebook to picking up a Tee, all is greatly appreciated! Look forward to new music in 2013, we hope to see everyone real soon on the road!
