Interview : Melrose

New Upcoming band from England "Melrose", formed in 2012. I got to interview Mike from the band.

TTEC:. How has the feedback been on debut ep?

   Mike:The feedback has been very positive. We released it ourselves digitally online and received features on xeasycorex.net; thistimeeasycore.com and got played on BBC radio within just one week. Its been awesome to see people from all parts of the world enjoying our music.

TTEC:. How is the music scene where you guys are from?

  Mike:We are from Kent which is in south-east England that has gone from strength to strength in the past few years. So much so that its becoming quite a touring hotspot for bands that are based in the UK and even overseas. In Kent in the past few years we've had The Wonder Years, Man Overboard, Transit, Major League, Me v's Hero and more play here. We were lucky enough to support The Story So Far from California for our second show when they came over a few weeks ago which was a great opportunity so early in our career.

TTEC:. what is you're favorite thing about being in a band and least favorite thing?

  Mike :The favourite thing for me is definitely just playing the music we really love and seeing people enjoy our songs. Playing live is great too, its a great buzz. The least favourite thing is probably juggling other commitments around being in a band. It can be difficult when you're really busy working full-time, attending University, having other commitments etc. We all make compromises though and make things work.

TTEC:  any tours coming up? and if so where to?

 Mike:We're in talks with some other bands and promotors for a couple of weekenders and tours in 2013. We would love to tour as much as possible next year, but as a new band we're probably going to be realistic and do short 3 or 4 day runs to start with…then who knows!

TTEC: anything else you want to share to everyone?
