Dorm Patrol is a Pop Punk band from Strömstad, Sweden, that formed in 2009. TTEC:I know sweden's got some good bands you guys, load the cannons, abandoned by bears but overall how is the scene?
Dorm Patrol:Thank you! The pop punk/hardcore scene is kind of underground these days, it's not in the mainstream at all. It's driven by passion and enthusiasm, all bands are friends and we always help each other out and try to get together for gigs and stuff.
TTEC:How has the feeback been on the new single/music video?
Dorm Patrol:It's been terriffic so far! We were so nervous and excited prior to the release but the feedback has been good so we are really really happy about it!
TTEC: Who are some influences?
Dorm Patrol:Hmm.. that's a tricky question! We get influences from anything! A song idea can come from anything, seeing a simpsons episode or just hearing something a friend says at a party. But we did grow up with bands like Millencolin, blink 182 and the Offspring. I think that the southern California punk rock scene in the 90s early 2000s is the biggest influence! Growing up here in Sweden, it's cold and dark for the good part of the year so we escaped into skateboard films and stuff like that, we're just trying to get that feeling.
TTEC: You guys have a couple music videos out, who comes up with the concepts for them?
Dorm Patrol:We always come up with everything on the spot, we maybe scout a location in advance and when we get there we just freestyle! One video is just footage from our US roadtrip. Our next video (that features Nikola Sarcevic from millencolin!) will be released closer to our albums release date. All credit goes to Lucas Englund for that video and the new "Alright" video! It was alot of fun to shoot, all the pinball machines and the rest of the arcade games kept us warm and entertained, like kids in a candy store.
TTEC:Any tours coming up? if so with who? and where?
Dorm Patrol:Yes! We will be touring Sweden with "Friends in love" and "Use me" (awesome band from Norway) in february, march and april. Later on we will get down to Germany, Belgium and rest of Europe. But our biggest dream is to tour across USA in a van.
